Our Founder

Dr. Alberto Aceves (FACS), a global pioneer in Gastric Sleeve Surgery, founded Mexicali Bariatric Center in 2003. By his passing in 2014 he had performed over 6,000 bariatric surgeries, served as president for the National Bariatric Surgery Association (CMCOEM) and as a proctor for Johnson & Johnson. It was for his superb track record that in 2012 he was selected by IFSO as one of 20 leading bariatric surgeons from around the world to participate in the Sleeve Gastrectomy Expert Panel Consensus where they shared their experiences, techniques and results with Gastric Sleeve Surgery. Today we can confidently say that our accomplished group of surgeons received the best training from Dr. Aceves and for nine years have honored his legacy with the same dedication, vision and ethics.
